Introduction

When the USDA Agricultural Research Service and University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences needed industrial canopy hoods for their cutting-edge agricultural research facility, they partnered with KEES, a manufacturer that specializes in producing high-quality HVAC air-side products, to manufacture precision-engineered exhaust hoods for critical lab environments.

Located on the University of Georgia Tifton campus, this new 31,000 square foot research facility will house the USDA ARS Southeast Watershed Research Laboratory and the Crop Genetics and Breeding Research Unit. These labs will focus on advancing climate-resilient agriculture, conservation, pest resistance, pollinator health, and crop genetics in the Southeastern U.S.

Project Requirements

For the construction of this state-of-the-art research facility, KEES was engaged to produce two high-performance, stainless steel overhead canopy hoods to capture and exhaust heat and condensation.

KEES supplied custom-sized canopy hoods built from 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel, a material with high corrosion resistance ideal for wet processes. Each 48"x12”x24" unit includes integrated drain fittings, oversized round collar connections, and hanger brackets to ensure seamless performance and ease of installation.

Why KEES

KEES is proud to support agricultural innovation through quality HVAC solutions. Our mastery of ultra-strong, corrosion-resistant stainless steel enables us to craft industrial hoods capable of withstanding harsh industrial, manufacturing, and scientific processes.

For this project, KEES supplied the USDA Agricultural Research Service and University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences with high-quality exhaust hoods tailored for cutting-edge research. Our contributions to the facility underscores the essential role of precision-engineered ventilation in high-stakes research, where durability and reliability are paramount.

KEES industrial ventilation hoods are built to stand up to the toughest processes for reliable and long-lasting performance. Our hoods capture and remove fumes, dust, and other air contaminants for a safe and clean manufacturing environment.
