Introduction

When Princeton University needed ventilation solutions for its state-of-the-art Environmental Studies (ES) and the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) facilities, it partnered with KEES, a manufacturer who specializes in producing high-quality HVAC air-side products, for perforated diffusers made of durable stainless steel.

The new ES and SEAS complex is the largest construction project in the university’s history. Covering 666,000 square feet, the four new buildings integrate with the existing campus network, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainability. KEES contributed to the construction of this historic project by supplying sturdy, corrosion-resistant stainless steel perforated diffusers ideal for lab environments.

Project Requirements

To meet the needs of Princeton’s new multi-functional, interdisciplinary space, KEES supplied the university with 49 of our 24”x24” stainless steel perforated diffusers—30 SSCD supply diffusers and 19 SSRD return diffusers. Constructed out of 304 stainless steel, these durable diffusers resist corrosion from harsh chemicals used in lab environments. The supply and return diffusers were produced at five different neck sizes and designed for installation in lay-in ceilings across the complex.

The ES and SEAS facilities opened in 2025 and contain vibrant spaces that promote collaborative research among departments.
