Introduction

When Salesforce Tower needed decorative grilles that matched its world-class architectural design, they engaged KEES, a manufacturer that specializes in producing high-quality HVAC air-side products, to build two custom-sized decorative grilles that enhanced the tower’s aesthetic and functional appeal.

Salesforce Tower, located at 333 Wolfe Point Plaza in downtown Chicago along the Chicago River, was designed by the architectural firm Pelli Clarke & Partners and opened in 2023. The 1.2 million square foot office and retail space serves as the regional hub for Salesforce, a leader in the customer relationship manager software (CRM) industry. PC&P Partner Darin Cook described the project as “a tower that reaches boldly skyward, is imbued with lightness, and takes a sculptural form.”1 KEES was contracted by a local rep firm to supply decorative grilles to Salesforce Tower that would enhance its sculptural aesthetics.

Project Requirements

KEES partnered with the Elmhurst, IL-based rep firm Hatchell & Associates to supply two large decorative grilles at custom sizes tailored to the project’s needs.

KEES supplied Salesforce Tower with two decorative grilles crafted from durable 14-gauge steel and painted in a sleek white finish. Our Lattice pattern was chosen due to both its open, airy design complementing the tower’s aesthetics, and its free area of 66% maximizing performance. The grilles were produced at the custom sizes of 52”x14” and 43.25”x16”.
