Introduction

When Nashville International Airport needed security grates for their New Horizon expansion project, they chose KEES, a manufacturer that specializes in producing security HVAC products, to supply security grates for the newly reconstructed Concourse A.

To meet increasing passenger demand, Nashville International Airport began the second phase of its New Horizon expansion project in 2022. The existing Concourse A was demolished to make way for a newly built concourse, planned to open in 2028. A Nashville-based sales rep connected KEES to the airport for this opportunity.

Project Requirements

The plans for the reconstructed Concourse A at Nashville International Airport specified security grates to protect the spaces behind louvers from unauthorized access while allowing air to pass through. KEES manufactured 48 of our GR-B1 security grates; 13 of those grates were produced at a massive 224” x 96”, among the largest security grates KEES has ever produced.

Multiple security grates are combined to fill up the openings behind large louvers. The advantage of choosing KEES security grates for this installation was our ability to create the largest single-size grates in the industry. With larger grates covering more area, less grates were required overall, passing on savings to Nashville International Airport.
